Hoses near the turbocharger are exposed to high temperatures for a long time (up to 120°C or more) and deteriorate up to 30% faster than in naturally aspirated models. For example, the cooling hoses of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT require additional heat-insulating sleeves and are recommended to be inspected every 4 years or 50,000 kilometers.
Inline vs V-engine:
V-engine (e.g. S-Class V8) has longer cooling hoses with complicated bending angles, which are prone to loosening of joints due to vibration. According to the data of Mercedes-Benz Forum North America, the hose leakage probability of V-engine models is 22% higher than that of inline engines.
