Function and Role
Inlet pipe: responsible for transporting the high temperature air compressed by the turbocharger (up to 100℃ or more) to the intercooler for cooling, usually adopting materials with excellent heat resistance (such as fluoroelastomer DAI-EL) to cope with high temperature and high pressure environments. Outlet Pipe: Deliver the cooled air (temperature can be lowered by 60℃~80℃) to the engine intake manifold to improve the intake air density and combustion efficiency.

Materials and Processes
Material:
The air inlet tube is commonly reinforced with Viton, silicone rubber or aramid thread to take into account heat resistance (e.g. Viton is resistant to temperatures up to 200°C or more) and resistance to bursting pressure.
The air outlet tube is mostly made of thickened silicone, which has high toughness and fast rebound characteristics to ensure long-term stability and sealing.
Process: Extrusion molding is the main, some of the air inlet tube will be added to strengthen the layer (such as aramid thread) to enhance the pressure-bearing capacity.
Common Problems and Maintenance
Aging and Air Leakage: Long-term high temperature and high pressure can lead to hardening and cracking of the hose, which can be manifested as a loss of power or sluggish turbo response, and requires regular inspection and replacement.
Modification suggestion: The original piping design is conservative, upgrading to high-performance materials (e.g. reinforced silicone) can improve the stability of intake air and power output.
