Nylon 12 Properties
A:Nylon 12 is a linear, semi-crystalline-crystalline thermoplastic material from butadiene. Its properties are similar to nylon 11, but the crystal structure is different. Relative density is small, only 1.02, is relatively small in the nylon series;
B: low water absorption, good dimensional stability; excellent low-temperature resistance, up to -70 ℃;
C: low melting point, melting point of 170 ~ 180 ℃, molding and processing is easy, wide range of molding temperatures; softness, chemical stability, oil resistance, abrasion resistance are better, and

Nylon 12 chemical commonly known as poly dodecalactam, PA12. Chinese name is also known as poly laurolactam.
Nylon 12 characteristics
A: Nylon 12 is a linear, semi-crystalline-crystalline thermoplastic material from butadiene. Its properties are similar to nylon 11, but the crystal structure is different. The relative density is small, only 1.02, is the smaller of the nylon series.
B:Low water absorption, good dimensional stability; excellent low temperature resistance, up to -70 ℃.
D: Long-term operating temperature of 80 ℃ (heat treatment up to 90 ℃), in the oil can be 100 ℃ under long-term work, inert gas can be a long-term working temperature of 110 ℃.
E: injection molding, extrusion and other methods can be processed into monofilaments, films, plates, rods, profiles, powder can be used in fluidized bed impregnation method, electrostatic coating method, rotational molding and other methods of processing, especially suitable for coating and spraying on metal surfaces.
F:Nylon 12 is a good electrical insulator and like other polyamides will not be affected by moisture. It has good impact resistance and chemical stability.
G: The viscosity of Nylon 12 depends mainly on humidity, temperature and storage time.
H: It has good flowability. Shrinkage is between 0.5% and 2%, which mainly depends on the material variety, wall thickness and other process conditions.
I:Nylon 12 has many improved varieties in terms of plasticizing properties and reinforcing properties. These materials have lower melting points and densities compared to PA6 and PA66, and have very high retentions. Nylon 12 is not resistant to strong oxidizing acids.

Nylon 12 Applications
Mainly used in water meters and other commercial equipment, fiber optics, cable casings, mechanical cams, automotive, sliding mechanisms, and bearings. It is also used in: automotive fuel delivery hose, automotive brake hose, air conditioning hose, air pressure equipment hose, industrial high pressure hydraulic hose, hose quick couplings, automotive ABS solenoid shafts, gears, cams, and bearings of the sliding part, photocopiers to remove static electricity to turn the rollers, capacitors and IC chip guides, fiber optic cable sheaths, transparent tubing, self-adhesive wire lacquer, anechoic gears, athletic shoe soles, cable clasps, tennis racket clasps, and so on. Many more.
